For 20 years, the Oklahoma State Parks Foundation has partnered with state parks across Oklahoma to connect people to nature- through educational programs, park improvements, trail expansions, habitat restorations and other projects. For our 20th anniversary in 2023, the Board of Directors is strengthening its efforts to involve more park supporters in the Foundation's work. We hope our new website will help the Foundation connect to people who are passionate about Oklahoma's state parks and will help us keep Oklahoma's parks available for everyone, forever.
In 2023, the Foundation is focusing on building those connections through our membership drive. Funds raised through memberships support Foundation projects at Oklahoma's state parks.
The Foundation is also partnering with the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department to host our first Two-Person Golf Tournament at Roman Nose State Park Golf Course on September 15th. Teams have the chance to win prizes for various contests and the grand prize is an all-access golf pass to all seven Oklahoma State Park golf courses for a year, which includes green fees and cart rentals. Registration is $400 for a two-person team and includes green fees, cart rental, box lunch, t-shirt and a swag bag of goodies from the sponsors. Finally, the Foundation is seeking people who would like to be involved in the Foundation's Advisory Board. We are looking for passionate park supporters who are located across Oklahoma, have a few hours to dedicate to the Foundation every other month and want to help inform the direction of the Foundation's work.
